Hi there, this plugin looks really good, many thanks for making it available. I am having difficulty getting it to work with sub pages in IE. It works really well in Firefox and Safari (both on a PC) but in IE6 and IE7, it does not seem to allow the sub-menu drop-down to appear on the right, it tries to display it in the same width as the level above it. The opacity is great but I am not sure if there is a workaround for sub menus with IE?
Thanks very much indeed
Clive
April 26, 2008 at 2:24 am #2533AnonymousMemberHello Ryan, please ignore my previous email. Your plugin does work with sub pages very well indeed in IE 6 & 7. What I had done was copy the code from one of your presets and put it in my style.css in my theme.
The code gets pasted in as a long string of text with no line-breaks and the first thing did was to reformat it so I could read it better. I think I must have taken out a bit of code which prevented it from working at sub-page level in IE 6 & 7.
I used your generator again and it worked fine.
I do have a requests, though. Do you think you could put in some carriage returns, to separate each element produced by your css generator? It’s not just about having things laid out clearly in my style.css file, I always use relative values when I can and have to edit the code manually afterwards.
I am happy to contribute to the cause as I think your plugin is great. Do you have a donation button?
Best

April 26, 2008 at 2:25 am #2534imported_RyanMemberYes, I noticed that the code unfortunately gets a bit jumbled. I’ll take a look at that some to see if I can clean it up. I may have a chance to look at this on the weekend.
I don’t have a donation button (although I will be adding one shortly). In the mean time, I would be very grateful for any support you can give via PayPal to ryanhellyer@hotmail.com ” title=”Smiley” /> Thank you very much ” title=”Smiley” />
April 26, 2008 at 2:30 am #2535AnonymousMemberOK, excellent, thanks Ryan. Donation on it’s way…
April 26, 2008 at 2:30 am #2536imported_RyanMemberI’ve updated the CSS generator so that the code outputted is much cleaner. Let me know if you think there should be any improvements to the layout of the code and I’ll see what I can do.
I am having some issues trying to add TAB’s to it though. For some reason they don’t copy and paste out of the page but I’m not sure why.
April 26, 2008 at 2:31 am #2537AnonymousMemberHi Ryan, that’s perfect! ” title=”Smiley” /> You don’t need to do anything else to the generator, that’s just what I wanted.. ” title=”Smiley” />
On another note, I’m having a bit of trouble getting the animation slide to show. I copied over the folder of the plugin and installed it. The “keyboard tabâ€
April 26, 2008 at 2:31 am #2538AnonymousMemberActually, it’s ALMOST – The TABs would really be the icing on the cake but don’t bust a gut over it! ” title=”Smiley” />
Cheers

April 26, 2008 at 2:32 am #2539AnonymousMemberI managed to get the animation to work on a test site OK, so I am wondering if it might be conflicting with another plugin. Hmm…
April 26, 2008 at 2:32 am #2540imported_RyanMemberHmmm, yeah, sounds like a plugin conflict. If you send a link to your test site I’ll have a look and see if I can figure out the problem if you like.
April 26, 2008 at 2:32 am #2541imported_RyanMemberI’ll see what I can do on the TAB’s front. I’m sure there must be an easy fix for this.
April 26, 2008 at 2:36 am #2542AnonymousMemberHi again Ryan, the site in question is password protected at the mo, can I email you the details?
Anyway, we having a problem with getting it working in IE6. There’s some flickering when you move the mouse over the drop down. We thought it was something we had done but I then checked your demo and it did the same. Is there a way of just turning off the javascript effect if you’re using IE6? Thanks!
April 26, 2008 at 2:37 am #2543AnonymousMemberIt seem to disable both the wp-lightbox2 and lightbox2 plugins. I can get the thick box effect working without any problems but not the lightbox. Does this sound like a possible conflict?
April 26, 2008 at 2:53 am #2544imported_RyanMemberI think the flicker effect you are referring to is caused by the border between each menu item in the dropdown. Try removing those and it should correct it.
April 26, 2008 at 2:54 am #2545imported_RyanMemberActually … it’s not that problem at all!
I just tried it on the demo page and sure enough it’s not working ” title=”Sad” />
April 26, 2008 at 2:54 am #2546imported_RyanMemberI’ll quickly prepare a new version of the plugin which doesn’t show the animated menu to IE6 and lower.
I should have it ready in 10 mins or so.
