This topic is for comments about the Simple CMS WordPress plugin.

April 24, 2008 at 10:11 am #2281AnonymousMemberThanks for the plug. I had considered going as far as you have with my plugin, but it was more-or-less a one-off thing I did for a client who decided not to use it, so I released it into the wild.
The only thing I would recommend is to leave the Plugins menu. It’s a nit-picky thing, but even in a simple CMS, I can see where someone might want to add a plugin or two.
April 24, 2008 at 10:17 am #2282imported_RyanMemberI might add an options page with the ability to control what people see and don’t see in the menu eventually and I’ll have an option in there for keeping the plugins page.
April 24, 2008 at 10:20 am #2283imported_RyanMemberThe options page has now been added to the plugin and there is an option in there to display the plugins menu item.
April 25, 2008 at 3:31 am #2284imported_RyanMemberVersion 1.2.2 has been uploaded. It contains a small fix for the bug which Dennis reported.
April 25, 2008 at 3:37 am #2285imported_RyanMemberVersion 1.2.3 has now been uploaded. I discovered a few more bugs as some of the options I had added couldn’t work as WP editors don’t have access to them, ie: themes, plugins, widgets etc.
April 25, 2008 at 3:38 am #2286imported_RyanMemberOops, I forgot to fix the first bug that Dennis pointed out. So I’ve now uploaded Version 1.2.4.

May 31, 2008 at 12:11 am #2289AnonymousMemberI mush have brain lock, after installing the plugin I created a Author user, but, I can’t seem to be able to configure the "setting" so he can acess the post articles, etc, features. I looked at the FAQ didn’t see instructions. Again, its probably just brain lock. But, could use a little help here.
May 31, 2008 at 1:29 am #2290imported_RyanMemberThe plugins settings page can be found via:
Settings > Simple CMS
However there is no option for accessing posts. This plugin removes the post functionality, that’s one of the main purposes of the plugin – it removes the post feature.
September 1, 2008 at 9:42 pm #2291AnonymousMemberHi,
I’m new to wordpress and this sounds ideal. Does this plugin still work and if so where and how do I upload it?
Thanks

September 12, 2008 at 11:25 am #2293imported_RyanMemberHere are some plugins which apparently offer similar features to the Simple CMS plugin. If you try these and are able to compare them to Simple CMS I’d love to hear from you. If they are better than my plugin I will consider recommending users try another plugin.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/kiss-cms-admin/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/adm … anagement/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wplite/When I released Simple CMS it was one of a kind, but if there is a better plugin out there now I’d rather leave it to someone else to push forward the development. I would appreciate knowing if I should start recommending users to try another plugin.
The only one from that list which I have tried was WP Lite which seemed to have quite a few more features than Simple CMS.
September 19, 2008 at 12:21 pm #2294AnonymousMemberdoes it work with wordpress MU?
