Removing ‘Write’ & ‘Comments’ from Simple CMS 1.4.1 Beta

Greetings from Invercargill! I often travel up to Dunedin and would be interested in meeting up with you and ascertaining your thoughts on WordPress.

Myself and a colleague are planning on rolling out Simple CMS as the primary CMS for future websites. We’re currently working on rolling it out on our first site and have had some success.

However, this afternoon, I got an email saying my colleague wants the ‘Write’ section removed as he only wants them to be able to edit the existing content (which is fair enough). Also, just logging back into an Editor account shows the ‘Comments’ section to be showing which is kinda redundant for a site such as this. I’m using 1.4.1 beta along with WordPress 2.5.

Is there a way to remove those 2 offending sections? Economic times would prohibit me from subscribing to the premium service, but a free beer wouldn’t be out of the question if our paths crossed ” title=”Smiley” />.

BTW, the latest version is only designed to work with WordPress 2.7, I doubt it works very well with 2.5.
