I’m using PixoPoint Menu Version 0.6.20 with SimpleCMS Theme Version 1.5 on WordPress Version 3.0 and the Menu links are intermittently malformed, there are hash marks "#" added to the link url’s and the url is duplicated after the hash mark. See attached .jpg Sometimes I can clear the problem by reloading or going to a different area of the site and then it is cleared up and the menu works. I also noticed if I run the site through an html validator like http://htmlhelp.com/tools/validator/ the hash marks show up in the error messages.

The menu below the fold on the home page works perfectly, the link problems only seem to surface in the PixoPoint Menu on the top menubar.

    1. Where is your CSS?: I’ve not changed the default locations, not sure about where they are.

    2. What modifications have you made to the CSS?: I’ve changed the PixoPoint CSS and some changes to the Theme Footer and CSS. I have attached the PixoPoint main menu css.

    3. What browsers are you having problems with? I’ve been able to duplicate the issue in IE and Firefox 3.6 but it seems intermittent.

    4. What is the URL for your site? http://rocketed.org

    5. Provide a link to the problem. The problem is intermittent, attaching a screenshot that shows #/"http:// after the url. Also see validator results http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=rocke … ne&group=0 or http://htmlhelp.com/cgi-bin/validate.cg … rnings=yes.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

    Hi,
I suspect you have entered the IDs int he "link URLs" section incorrectly.

There is a long standing bug in the plugin which screws the menu up like that when they link ID’s are entered incorrectly.

    Hi Ryan,

Thank you for responding. In the "Main menu items" "Pages" widget dropdown under "ID’s of URL’s to exclude" I have the following (without the quotes): "93,95,103,101,105,108,169,193". So I can’t figure out what might be wrong with that entry, it seems to look the same as the screenshot you have on your blog https://geek.hellyer.kiwi/2009/07/26/removin … wordpress/.

Is there a limit to the # of ID’s or do you see something else that I have wrong?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hi Eric,
There is no limit to the number of IDs, but it’s likely that it will serve bugs if one of the IDs is incorrect. The plugin should really check if the ID’s are correct (or even better, give you a list of page names to click), but I didn’t know how to do that when I wrote the plugin (it’s a very old plugin). I don’t think I’ll be upgrading it to fix those issues though sorry, the plugin is largely replaced now by the menu system built into WordPress core so I’m intending to add any more features or fix complex usability issues like that.

    Hi Ryan,

That might be what I needed to know, seems as though one of the ID’s was for a page I created and saved as a Draft but never published. I trashed the page and removed that ID. I won’t know for a while if that resolved the issue because it’s been intermittent but I’m hopeful. I guess if that doesn’t work I’ll go to the new WordPress menus.

I also found when reviewing the page ID’s that I have 2 pages with the same name and ID showing up in the Pages list of WordPress. Not sure what’s going on with that but I suppose I could delete one or both and recreate it and then update the ID.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Eric
