I’m using the WordPress Suckerfish dropdown menu on my blog since a few weeks, and I think it looks great.
Nevertheless, a few of my readers, using IE7 on Windows have problems with it, as they only see a long, long list of links, instead of the smart dropdown-menu.
Any idea what is going wrong? I haven’t been able to reproduce that error.April 26, 2008 at 2:29 am #2551imported_RyanMemberI can’t replicate it either. I thought maybe it was IE6, but I tried that too and it didn’t seem to have any issues with your menu either. IE5.5 worked fine too.
The menu looks really nice, it gels well with the rest of your site ” title=”Smiley” />
I can’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be working. Your code looks fine too. There isn’t anything obviously wrong that I can see.
April 26, 2008 at 2:35 am #2552AnonymousMemberThank you for your reply.
Just half an hour ago, I heard another person mention the same problem: no dropdwn menu, but a series of links.
When this problem occurs, it always seems to be a combination of IE 7 and Windows XP. (And I heared that the links that appear on this occasion aren’t clickable).
I don’t know yet, if it always occurs with this O.S./browser combi, but since this is a rather frequent combination, I fear I have to disable your dropdown menu plugin.
I hope I can re-enable it in the future, or I’ll try to rebuild your Aqua Vaccinium theme until it looks like my current theme…April 26, 2008 at 2:37 am #2553imported_RyanMemberThat is certainly a very strange problem your visitors are reporting. If you can figure out what is triggering it I would love to hear.
I assume it has something to do with your theme, but I have no idea what.
April 26, 2008 at 2:53 am #2554AnonymousMemberThanks Ryan, I’ll try. BTW, I got the lightbox effect working on my test site with your plugin as well ,so no conflict there
Cheers

April 26, 2008 at 2:56 am #2555AnonymousMemberTonight I will publish a post in which I’ll ask my RSS-subscribers to take a look at the site and to report their ‘visual experience’, with their O.S.-browser combo. (When only asking my ‘direct visitors’, the reporst would be far too positieve, since many visitors who see the site the wrong way won’t read the post…)
When it always seems to be the same combo that has problems, I’ll report back.
(Another Belgian blogger who saw my dropdown menu tried to incorporate your plugin in his own blog, but got this same problem while viewing his blog, however he can see my blog the right way.)May 2, 2008 at 8:39 am #2556AnonymousMemberI got IE7 problem too. While the plugin works perfectly in FF, nothing appears in IE7. I don’t know what to do. Please, help. My blog: thecheaperworld.com
May 2, 2008 at 11:24 am #2557imported_RyanMemberHi Guzfrie,
Your site looks fine to me in IE7, the menu renders as I expected it to.May 31, 2008 at 9:31 pm #2558HimosaunojaMemberMy menu works as it is supposed to work wit FF/Opera/Safari but !suprisingly IE doesn’t want to co-operate. it doesn’t seem to react with hovering at all.
My site can be seen at http://www.matkalla.eu/annijajyrki/
Big hand for help in here. I have tried to many different solutinos found from this forum but ith no luck.May 31, 2008 at 10:36 pm #2559imported_RyanMemberHi Himosaunoja,
The dropdowns are appearing in IE6, so I’m assuming that it’s the hover images which are the problem.I’m not sure where you’ve gone wrong there, but you may consider trying our premium membership option as the premium CSS generator has support for a buttonized service which would achieve some of the graphical effects you are trying to achieve. It doesn’t support graphical dropdowns, but we could add those for you manually if needed.
Here are some examples of buttonized menus created with the premium CSS generator:

I donät know what happened but everything seems to work now exept secend level sub-menus in IE but I haven’t tryid too hard on that problem yet.
June 3, 2008 at 6:04 am #2561imported_RyanMemberWhat was the problem? When I looked over your code yesterday I couldn’t figure out where you were going wrong.
