I would like to have the Pages sidebar on the left. Is it something I can do from generator, or is it something I have to change manually later on?

February 20, 2010 at 6:49 am #8035nerdocratMemberRight, I mean that the left/right options give me two different results: the left side only has Categories, while the right has both Pages and Categories. Is there a way I can get just the Pages on the left sidebar? I’m sure it’s just a box to check or something – I’m just not seeing it.
February 20, 2010 at 9:15 am #8036imported_RyanMemberOh, that’s easy ” title=”Smiley” /> The sidebars are widgetized so you can just drag and drop whatever widget you want into the sidebar via the widgets page in your WordPress admin panel.
February 21, 2010 at 9:36 am #8037nerdocratMemberOkay, I did that, and I’m still not getting the full effect that I want. I can now get the Pages to list in the left sidebar, but the categories still stay there, even after I take them completely out in the widget panel.
Here’s a more complete rundown of what I’m trying to do:
— I am trying to use WordPress as a blogless CMS
— I want the left sidebar to contain my pages with a vertical flyout menu
— I installed the PP menu plugin, and pasted in the css menu generator code
— I have not manually edited any php or css – only what I made on the theme generatorI know I have all the pieces, so here are some questions I have:
1. When using the theme generator, which of the two menus do I need to have configured so the menu plugin will just work right away? Or should I just leave them be?
2. Since I don’t have a sidebar.php file, where could I paste [code:3cl4w5y0]<?php if ( function_exists( ‘pixopoint_menu’ ) ) {pixopoint_menu();} ?>[/code:3cl4w5y0]
I know the instrucions say to put the code in the header.php file, but that wouldn’t be compatible with trying to place the menu in the sidebar, would it? But even then, I’m probably only going to paste the code if I cannot get the plugin to work on its own with my site.3. Do the sidebar settings from the theme generator carry over to the menu created by the plugin?
4. So I may edit the footer settings, how does the menu plugin know if I am a premium member? I read the part about the plugin’s back end communicating with the PixoPoint server, but how would I give the plugin my login info?
Thanks!
