Change font/content/background of "Close X" button?

I have reconfigured Slimbox 2 so that the background is dark, with a 1px light grey border and light grey captions, which looks very nice against my website.  But the "Close X" button on the lower right has a white background, and is much larger than I’d like.  Can I tinker with that at all?  (e.g., change the font, font size & color, and/or background color?)  Preferably, I’d like just a small "X" on a black background.  Thanks!

The "Close X" button is actually an image, so it’s not as simple as changing text, but you’re free to modify the image however you like and replace it to suit the needs of your site.
