Links menu dropdown always open

Hi, Is there a way to have the links dropdown menu item always as open so the list will always be visible. I know it is a strange question, but it is like having an extra colum/sidebar. I already desugned the menu, so the Links item is the last and the whole menu is longer then the header, so if the links opens the list will come next to the whole blog container, instead of over it.
So if it could be always open, or starts open until a click is done on the links menu item, looks to me a nice feature/design.
