Sub-menu under widget

I am trying to get the multi-level navigation plugin going for my website.  The problem is the pop-up submenus are coming underneath the other widgets on the right side.  (At least under FF, Safari and Chrome on a Mac, haven’t tried IE).

You can see this at http://test.omfire.org  If you hover over Category or Archives the submenu falls under the "Member’s Page" widget. 

I have tried multiple z-index things but none of them work. 

Any ideas?  I really want to get this to work.
